Christmas Bonus Entitlement and Calculation 2026

The Christmas bonus is a mandatory benefit for all private sector employees according to labor legislation. It equals one full monthly salary and is paid by December 20th each year. Our calculator accurately calculates the gross amount, EFKA deductions and taxes, and the final net amount you will receive.

Christmas Bonus Deductions and Taxation

The Christmas bonus is subject to the same deductions as regular salary:

  • Employee EFKA insurance contributions: 13.37% (reduced from 13.87% in 2024)
  • Income tax based on 2026 tax brackets that vary according to age and children
  • Solidarity contribution for higher incomes

Leave Allowance and Special Cases

A 0.04166 (4.166%) allowance corresponding to leave is added to the Christmas bonus. For employees who did not complete the full year, the bonus is calculated proportionally based on the months worked from January 1st to December 31st. Unpaid absences reduce the bonus amount proportionally.
